   the animation itself bugged me, but I found myself identifying with the characters a fair bit. there's not a whole lot of background for most of them but the last season goes deeper into why his family was so messed up.

    yeah I wouldn't recommend it if you didn't like the first two, but it was something I found interesting - the progression from him just being a self-involved douche to actually ruining lives and getting people killed was pretty believable.
    
    I also like how Mr. Peanutbutter comes off as essentially being happy because his life's been easy and he doesn't know any better, but every now and then it comes out that he's just as damaged as everyone else but has found a way to hide it
