it's not worth the cost/effort unlessyou' re a confirmed vinylsexual

try listening to the same music on CD VS vinyl and see if the difference is significant for you to rebuy everything. most people get into vinyl for the aesthetic more than anything else

What's the aesthetic they like so much? The low quality/crackling noises? Do they just pretend to like it because they want to be different etc?

The audio quality isn't perceptually different if you don't scratch them up and use decent equipment for playback.

But again, like people have already said, it's not about audio quality. It's a mildly fun way to support an artist.

I like vinyl records. I just feel like they are more substantial and that there is a ritual involved in putting one on. My father has always liked vinyl so it`s kinda been a part of my upbringing.

I don`t rebuy a lot of the music I have on CD`s but if I am getting a new album, it`s probably going to be on vinyl.

If it`s worth the investment for you, that only you can decide.

I hate how every time someone makws an argument for vinyl they use wishy washy buzz words like "ritual" and "feel". I need cold hard facts as to why vinyl is superior.

It's not superior and in this day and age the only reason to use vinyl over CDs is for the feel

I knew it’s been gaining in popularity over the last 2 or so years. There’s some bad ass turn tables out there. I definitely prefer CDs over vinyl.

I wouldn’t invest in a turntable, but I’ve enjoyed listening to my friends. But, of course I prefer to listen to old music on turntables.
