Vinyl does not sound better than CDs
Repeat that yourself a hundred times.
The frequency range might theoretically be higher but higher fqr for what, slightly muddy crackling?
Vinyl is only good for the aesthetic and feeling, having the large artwork and the weight of the record.
It's just a novelty, nothing more.
CDs should still be your main source for listening to music.

I bet you couldn't tell the difference between a vinyl, a CD and a 128kbps mp3 if your life depended on it.

If you can't tell the difference between a vinyl record and a CD you're a deaf idiot.
Also I have run abx tests several times, yes I can tell the difference between 128kbps and a CD.
I have spent more time around this stuff than you have being on the internet.

You're a bullshitter. I'd test you IRL if I could, but online you'd just find some way to cheat.

Dude from 2007 to 2009 I was on head-fi and hydrogen audio all day everyday obsessing over this stuff with extreme levels of autism.
I did dozens of abx tests with every codec under the sun.
    I know my shit.

What albums do you own, OP?

Yes, you should buy vinyl AND cd (and whatever else).
We need to help foster and nourish music culture and record sales.
The more people buy = the healthier and more interesting music and records will be.
The saddest thing ever for music would be a world where there are only digital files and streaming, there is absolutely no soul or experience to those things.

My goal is to own over a hundred vinyl records within the next few years.
So far I have around 20 or so.

also cds are still the best way to obtain music

for those of you who dislike jediel cases, there are digipacks and a pretty recent development: albums that come in DVD cases, I have a couple, they're pretty neat.

    actually they're not

Cds are encoded with a raw waveform, Redbook audio.
    They aren't mp3s, mp3 is a lossy audio codec.

the hate and ignorance towards cds these days is so frustrating and stupid it makes you wonder if it isn't just a marketing ploy by the jedis to scare people away from cds so they won't be able to copy and share them, which is why they're steering people towards vinyl records since it takes more effort to copy them to your computer.
