she knows she's going to die soon - my grandfather had collected a significant library before he died 9 years ago, and she's been giving that away along with anything else people might want. she's made her own funeral arrangements and prepared her will.
once she passes, her house, land and everything else will be sold and divided among her children.
she and my grandfather bought and moved into that property in the year I was born, 1986, and once it's gone, all I'll have left are faded memories of the christmases I spent down there most years. it's a six hour drive into the country to get there, so it's unlikely I'll ever see it again.
yeah its weird when my parents retired they sold the house i'd grown up in and moved miles away. i stayed in that town and would often pass the house. its really weird having lived there for so long, grown up there always knowing it as my home and so many memories in there, some of my earliest memories as well. and now i would pass it and it belonged to somebody else, total strangers, and knowing i couldn't just go in there whenever i wanted.

Organized religion is a socially acceptable cult is all

Religion is very much the same concept of control that governments and elites have used for millennia using fear of something beyond the control of the average person. When you make people believe in a threat to their existence and well being that they are powerless against, yet you are able to offer them protection in some way, you become their king, their protectorate, and by default their ruler. The threat of wrathful gods, devils, demons and witches is a great threat if you can get people to believe it and also believe that you have some form of control through divinity where you can offer them protection. They will then do pretty much anything you ask of them including paying you money.
Its actually a very clever one because you are offering people protection from a threat that they believe goes on even after death.

2018-08-14 at 12:59 PM UTCDeath per se, no. If it's painful, or worse you're in some kind of catatonic state, that's scary.
In fact, I am pro euthanasia. -

My life isn't terrible. It's not great but like all things it can be worse. It's just feels dumb and pointless, like why the fuck did my dumbass parents think that life is worth anything at all? It's 1-100 years of being trained in your childhood so you can work during your best years and then be discarded like a used up husk when you can't cut it anymore. The government prints little tickets that they use to extract labor out me and force me to use their scrip to pay the fines they impose. I have a problem with everything tho, so probably a me problem. -
2018-08-14 at 6:48 PM UTCI’ve thought I was gonna die a cpl times in my life. I panicked a bit the first time, then calmed down and was like...oh well, this is it.
Next cpl times was no panic. Just a calmness.
There’s a bucket list I’d like to finish. I feel I’ve experienced more than many. I fear aging beyond my physical standards more than anything. -
2018-08-14 at 7:35 PM UTCWhen you do cross over to the other side, it will be like the blink of an eye. And you'll actually WANT to be there, because it will be nothing even close to what we see around us today. It will be a literal paradise, right here on Earth. No more death. No more pain. No more suffering. That was the plan all along, before Satan the Devil interfered, and that plan is still a go, merely interrupted.

2018-08-14 at 8:02 PM UTCThing is, if you kill yourself, you might still make it, but you might not. You're taking a big gamble. The Creator hates quitters, and in killing yourself you are also showing a great deal of ingratitude and a lack of care for those close to you. The Creator likes fighters who will persevere no matter what may come, no matter what the obstacles. But no man knows what's really in your heart, only the Creator, so it's a real toss up from our perspective.

Originally posted by Bologna Nacho I read stories about car wrecks or whatever and it is reported that they "died instantly". How do they know? I would think there would be some amount of time to go from living to dead.
how long the body took to decompose is probbaly how.
I remember telling someone who didn't believe in God how religious they would get during an Earthquake or a Hurricane where the load bear beam staps and crushes them to the point of hardly being able to breath and not being able to move.. having sever leg and back pain. shooting pain. it's like a broader version of snapping a tooth. Back pain in it's worst is like giving labor almost. but would last for days. I'v had it a few times for an hour before getting a shot and stabilized. I have calcified disk leaked out but it is in the shape of a needly poking into my back and the nerve is pinched between the vertebrates (which is normal back pain.. and it too hurts like hell)
Now if you never experienced this, and you had a house come down on you or something more simpler and common, you rolled in a car down into a ditch. and no one heard your cries for help for days. with a car crushing you just enough to get some air but not enough to feel stable.
God will come into your life real quick.
Prove me wrong. -

Easy
You don’t have to be “religious” in order to believe in God......the two aren’t mutually exclusive -
