it was terrible, the pigs held me down and gave me a shot in my ass and literally handcuffed me to a hospital bed (thats how i woke up) with some asian bitch nurse saying they cuffed me because i tried to fight the cops, i have no recollection of any of it
Oh lord, that looks like it hurt. You had a seizure just from giving up alcohol or were there other things involved? -

2018-08-11 at 12:31 PM UTCI’ve had to be on pain meds for an extended period of time due to some shitty back problems. I always expect my body to get addicted, you’d be a fool to think your body doesn’t crave the drugs. But, I do not let my mind get addicted. I have the power over them all in my brain. Going off opiates isn’t easy, but if you expect the withdrawals and find a way to deal with them, you’ve won half the battle. Yeah it’s uncomfortable, but you have to be the one in control of your own brain.

what it comes down to is that you were happier with your life when you weren't using them, and you felt like going through withdrawal was worth the benefit
the problem for a lot of people who get addicted is that they have (perceived) problems that drugs at least partially solve; it's not so much about the withdrawal as it is about that issue going unresolved... it's why you can't force someone, or even yourself to get off drugs without being convinced that you no longer need them
it seems to be a difficult thing to understand for people who've not experienced it -

2018-08-11 at 12:53 PM UTCAldra,
Besides being on opiates for my back, I had a terrible addiction in my 20s because I didn’t deal with the death of my father very well. I didn’t deal with it at all, next thing ya know I’m in a drug filled haze for about a year. I had to realize what put me there, hit rock bottom, then decide I couldn’t go on like that. No one could have told me to stop, I had to reach that point all on my own.
Like you said, people are filling holes in their life. So many people get addicted to try and relieve some kind of unresolved issues in their life. In the beginning it seems to work, but when you get to the point that you hate your life because the drug controls you, you realize that you are worse off than when you started. -

2018-08-11 at 1:32 PM UTCMy area has been hit hard. County coroner backed up. Funeral homes backed up.
I know a girl who was raped by a couple guys. So her older brother shot and killed them both. Got life in prison. She's struggled with heroin addiction and I know it's partly due to her blaming herself for everything.
Addiction is a complicated motherfucker. -
2018-08-11 at 2:07 PM UTCI was able to stop doing coke without a problem,, same with meth,, only did meth for 9 months and coke for 5 years, neither gave me issues when I stopped cold turkey,, ciggys tho,, I just cant get past 3 weeks without one before I flip the everlovinfuckout.
I never wanted to stop smokin weed,, Iv been to a point where I only smoked at night and thought I may be able to stop but quit my job and went back to smokin all day every day cuz its just a better life that way -

Actually that’s NOT what he said….read it again idiot….you choose to engage in those behaviors is quite clearly what he’s saying……I guess heroin kills more brain cells than you thought
Do you ever smile in real life? Are you ever happy? Every post I've seen of yours is nothing but snarky and negative. You remind me of my old pissed off grandpa. -

How very thoughtful of you to be so concerned about my happiness IRL...or with Jorell no longer posting do you simply need someone new to badger?
Tell you what Dr Jill
Since my posting habits seem to be of such great concern to you, why don’t you examine all 2000+ posts I’ve made since I’ve been here and set up a nice pie chart indicating which posts you find “snarky” and which posts you find “negative”.... or in what way my posts are simply displeasing to you,
My posting style has remained consistent since the forums of DH.......... Up until today you’ve never had an issue with it.....now all of a sudden it seems to be a problem for you??
Perhaps you should come up with a plan for me to adjust my attitude and posting style that better suits your sensibilities.......because, let’s face it....being popular around here is a major concern for me 🤓 especially with someone as pleasant as yourself
Maybe you can “message me” some suggestions 😉 -
