    I was a kid and I was just playing with it, it was already used up so I was just winding it and clicking for fun, guess I got my finger in the flash apparatus when I hit the shutter button.

    There are plenty of instructions online to make a stun gun out of a disposable camera flash unit. They may hurt a little like you said however they are basically useless as an effective stun gun. All you'd manage would be to infuriate the other guy even more.

    if you just use a single cap, yeah. real ones use a voltage multiplier circuit but you can get a similar effect with a bunch of capacitors in series
