It's common in older dementia patients. how old was your friend.. and did he pull out of an 8 month coma.
Actually new data shows it has very little to do with older dementia patients...old and young can be affected at any time. I had a chance to study GBS in those 8 months with various individuals and JHMS are pretty accurate with their results. My friend was 37 and almost everyone in isolated ICU were under 50 and young as 26. -

Thanks lady. I've tried melatonin though. Didn't do anything for me. Not even make me tired. That was last year though. Maybe i need to give it another try. I was able to fall asleep easy but since this started, i don't want to sleep. I'm so exhausted, i was falling asleep painting a bathroom today.
I want to touch your butt…
But you're exactly right about the negative trip. Like xlite said as well, it's like all the sudden waking up in a horrible bad trip from lsd or shrooms. I've had bad trips before. This trumps all of them together.
lol ohhhhhhhhhhh darrel!!π
That's all Larrys call. He possess and owns the rights to my nude sleep videos. His fine ass should be a director.
Everybody does pole. Even your momma.
Thanks Joe. Maybe i should set up a appointment with my doctor if it continues which i fear it will since it happened again all last night. I would finally get my body awake. Walk around and drink some water. It still happened when i fell back asleep the second time…and the third.

I have learned to do this over time.. and kick your leg really hard to jerk you out of it. usually takes a few times.
You're not supposed to freak out. just know it will end. it seems longer than it really is. I have sleep apnea so when I experience it, I am often not breathing. makes it even more frightening but just kick yourself out of it.
Usually I'm cold at night. Ill give that limb thing a shot. The majority of the time it happens I'm focusing on trying to get my eyes to open or lift my head up. I swear i can feel them fluttering. Do you ever get this extreme pain sensation? Its not necessarily the pain from slamming your finger or anything like that. I dont know i dont know how to explain it at all.

@Jill…have you tried the 5 or 10 mg melatonin?
I honestly cannot rememeber the mg. I'll try to find the bottle here i know i still have it somewhere.

No medications at all. No drugs. Hardly ever alcohol. I'd rather not go into detail on here the stress part. You can shoot me the question.

It's a simple mechanism to protect us yet the brain wakes up while the chemical that keeps our body from moving too much is happening as if the entire person is sleeping. You're awake somewhat but your body hasn't catched up yet.
I read somewhere that your body has reached a different level of REM, like 5 or so. While your brain is still on level 1 for example.

Originally posted by πΏ This past year I started experiencing sleep paralysis. I never knew it was a thing until the third time it happened I started to read into it
Anyway, since June I've been having them way too frequently. Usually 4 to 5 days out of the week. They have become pretty terrifying and i get anxious every night before I go to bed.
I guess I just wanted to know if anyone here experiences these and how they cope with them.
oh you lucky cow, i used to get it a bit when i was in my twenties and thirties but haven't had it in over 10 years now. sleep paralysis is a great trip tho, in mine it was some weird little creepy monster type thing that could climb the walls and ceiling and would usually be just outside the bedroom door when it started and would be slowly creeping in and getting closer. and there i'd be totally unable to move, lol. i thought it was a great little trip to experience, of course its not real and is nothing to worry about. eventually i realized i could kinda mentally build up all my energy together and throw it all into this sudden jolt of my whole body and even tho it would only be enough to slightly shake myself it would be just enough to snap me out of it and i could move again after that. dunno if that makes any sense, if not let me know and i'll see if i can elaborate a bit more. i really wish i would experience this again tho, i really miss sleep paralysis.

No i know what you mean. I've been only able to shake myself out of it two or so times. So i understand what you're explaining.
I know it's not real but when its happening my brain never thinks "oh this isn't real I'm cool". My brain only thinks it is real and i don't know how to work on it.
I would trade you in a heart beat if i could. I hate it and now its starting to effect the times i am awake.
Your experience sounds intense. Mines only felt like a human form. Never a creature like you described. Did it ever get very close to you? Mine get as close as nose to nose. It's weird too because when I'm working hard on opening my eyes to jerk myself out of it, it's like they know what I'm trying to do so they get closer and closer to me.
How did yours always start? Mine almost always start with chattering. Then it feels like someone is pushing down on my bed or sitting. I dont know which one. Then i see them.
I'm sleeping on the couch tonight to see if it helps. -
2018-07-26 at 5:30 AM UTCthe best i can explain it in words is that you sorta focus every bit of energy you can muster but don't just try and do it straight away, you've got to focus it for a couple of seconds or so. almost like you count down to it then on 3 you just suddenly UURRRRMMMMMHHHHHH with everything you got. the actual movement would just about muster a very quick slight jerk of your whole body but its enough to immediately snap you out of it. its like the moment you achieve even the slightest movement your brain wakes up and you're off. i would always be on my back when it happened so i would sorta kick my thighs and lower legs downward toward my feet direction while my upper body and shoulders i would sorta simultaneously push upwards towards my head direction. just one very quick jolt and that would be it over. but like i said you have to mentally focus for a moment and muster everything you got. that prolly sounds like some right babbling there but its the best i can explain it. hope it works for you, its just mind over matter shit really.
the creature i used to get, the best i can describe was kinda like a large scarab type thing with scales and a weird tail. it was i guess a little larger than a standard house cat with loads of little legs which it could use to climb around the walls and ceiling with ease. i don't remember actually seeing it tho, just i knew in my mind what it looked like and i don't remember it really ever making its way very far inside the bedroom door, it would just sorta hang around that area stalking me. i knew it had very nasty intentions tho that included really harming me if not killing me. i definitely got a very strong supernatural vibe about it as well, but i never really totally 100% thought it was real at any time. i really love weird shit and strange experiences, which is why i've always been a real trip fan, the more strange an experience is, the more i like it. i think that's why i've never had a bad trip, to me a bad trip would be awesome so by definition just wouldn't be a bad trip. when people describe their bad trips to me a genuinely get jelly, lol.

I know exactly what you're trying to explain. Been able to do it a few times. Not many times. I wish I could know it's not real when its happening. Wouldn't be so bad then.

Yes actually I do. I have since I was little. Silence while trying to sleep is irritating to me. -

I had a different issue once...usually before a big race. I would wake up suddenly with pain on my neck and if I moved or turned it would make me dizzy. Bottom line...stress and vertigo maybe due to firm bed. Used a strong B Complex, changed to a softer mattress and removed all stress and it worked. Different for everyone...may have similiar symptoms and yet problem will never be the same. So if you ruled out drugs, meds, Bipolarity, inability to reach deep sleep, leg cramps it leaves only a few...STRESS, oxygen issues or poor sleeping patterns or something that deeply worries you. One man had PlantarF on his feet due to running in marathons with aching heels...also resulted in your problem with night cramps and changing shoes fixed it. Spinal problems or poor receptors can really throw you off...so see a good doctor. -

2018-07-26 at 2:38 PM UTCOne thing to add...if SP is psychologically induced there usually is no physical problems unless you have an undiagnosed illness. Rarely it is both and if it is physical in nature it becomes pretty obvious. I read what you said...since it usually happens before and after sleep it does look psychological due to unresolved issues or worries and in all honesty unless you're sure jumping to anti depressants quickly is not the best solution. Toxins, low vitamins and minerals, IBS, etc., can mimic a lot of things...so SEE A GOOD DOCTOR FIRST.

fixed that for you mate, but no need to feel embarrassed or anything, you're only young and everybody here understands already that you have very limited knowledge and that. so ain't nobody judging you or anything.
