I keep my clothes till they’re falling apart at the seams, so I rarely donate my clothes, and I rarely buy clothes. I love most of my worn out clothes. They are the most comfortable and sometimes I have an emotional attachment to them, ie: clothes that were gifts.

You're all doing it wrong.
-Jackets, Sweatshirts, Fleeces
I wait until new designs come out, buy the new ones, place the tags on the old ones, ans then return.
-Jeans, Shorts
Same as above except I wait until the jeans are slightly wrinkly. Shorts are every spring.
-Socks, Underwear, Wallets, and Belts
Shoplift.

I make a capsule wardrobe every year, and the things I don't use anymore I donate.
I still have some things which I love and still wear today though. I have a great winter coat I bought in 2001, in Dubrovnik. It was a bit expensive back then, but it turn out worth every single DM. I also have a leather jacket, boots and a couple of skirts since 2004, and a pair of sandals. They are my favorites but the leather is not the same anymore. I don't want to throw them away though, because they are particular and can't find them anymore.
I'm thinking to go to the cobbler and repair them.

Yeah I donate my old stuff as well.
I also do volunteer work.

One reason could be the quality. Although expensive doesn't always mean great quality (you do pay for the name f the brand as well), it is more often than not. So even if you buy a bit more expensive (a coat or a pair of boots for example)but the quality is good, they will last much longer. Like over 5 or 10 years. So, you might've spent more money in one go but in the long run you haven't actually. It's kinda like an investment.
My grandfather used to say, I am not rich to buy cheap. He had a point there. lol
I do buy cheap myself, but more like summer clothing. Sometimes sweatshirts or pullover as well, which I may use daily or at home. But when it comes to jackets, coats, shoes. I do like to buy them of good quality.

Being short isn't easy either. You wanna buy capris and they end up as ankle pants; weird ankle pants bc they're all baggy, etc.
