2018-07-19 at 6:31 PM UTCI can't believe how old 3rd rock from the sun is. I kind of watched it when it first aired but because I wasn't into TV I think I picked up on it around early 2000 period and watched the reaired.
It was when I was mostly a stay home dad for some years. I always questioned if I should let my young kids back then watch it with me.. they seemed to giggle at it. but some of it had borderline R written into it.
they watched a lot of Blue's Clues and Kipper and they loved the movie Clifford. with Martin Short and Mary Steenburg and that gay guy Charles Grodin.
Martin Short has some serious issues. is he jedi? -

but an unstable Russian Nuclear Defense network exists. it failed in 1983. it happened 2 other times (though not as intense as 1983 where an actual ICBM launched and had to be self destructed 1200 miles out)
If it happened before.. it can happen again. especially with the Democrats trying to agitated them over the voting tampering they claim.
It's ok, any singular missile fired at the US would never make it...would be shot out of the sky long before it got here. -

Modern nuclear warheads spit into eight or ten separate warheads, when in the stratosphere over the target. The chances of shooting down ten small objects is quite slim, probably in the tens of thousands to one. -
2018-07-19 at 9:16 PM UTCIf you took Lithgow out of the mix, it would be understandably lessened. He took heartfelt drama and made it totally hilarious.

It would be shot down long before it was over the target and had split...lasers are pretty fancy though and can easily handle 10 or 20 objects...but yes, only needs 1 laser to put out the propulsion system to send it into the ocean (or North pole).
Again you have to be pretty naive not to think that tech is already deployed/available.
..and again, the Russian nukes are all old pieces of shit. EDIT: apparently not, google says they still make em and better than US ones. I doubt we have to worry about those going bonkers though. -

You know what.. that technology isn't perfected. it's still 1/3 will get through. we can only limit the horror of WWIII
when Laser technology becomes pinpoint accurate and a fleet at constant guard is in existance then maybe we'll survive on this side of the planet. Europes pretty much fucked though. Africa and or South America will become the new leaders of the world most likely in 50 years time.
I wonder if you replaced old NIKE missile technology with mobile vacuum bombs to replace the "hit nukes with nukes' concept if it would be a good thing. High altitude explosions with the same power as a hiroshima size tactical nuke without all of the radiation fallout. -
2018-07-20 at 12:13 AM UTCWhat's needed is a giant electromagnetic field, like a spider's web. If the electronics on board the warheads can be disabled by electromagnetic interference, the payloads will not ignite. You'd need something very powerful, though, to get through any special shielding the Ruskies may have implemented.
