There are esoteric witchcraft cults that dress up in Victorian Garb and hold rituals in one of the 2500 or so Victorian homes all across my hometown from my youth.
"Red Hat society Cult" though they wore mostly black. I went to several seances but understood he was a regular as his parents were. He didn't get turned onto witchcraft by his photographer girlfriend that they claimed in the film.
Interesting. I used to read up on all those books out about him. And I enjoyed the movie too. -

This is my nightmare. This has happened to me. I was in a tiny little SEAT Arosa, he was in some big jeep. I get out, he gets out, only I'm 6'3" and massive, and he's like 5'6" or something.
He was expecting to be up against some little girl or some short little man who he could intimidate.
Small car, small driver??? Not so.
We had a very short verbal disagreement, since I had deliberately pulled up at a toll booth, and I wasn't even mad.
I diffused the situation by saying it was just a misunderstanding to the toll booth attendee, and he just kept going. -

I blame the KGB for passing this info onto the CIA after the cold war. this lead to IBM and Fraunhaufer inventing a chip that can tap into mapping out the brain's patterns which is linked to speech. microseconds before the mouth says it. the person with a cell phone can now read your thoughts. or even mobily. it's been around for decades.
I recall seeing something as a kid in the 1970s where an electric probe that touched a part of the brain was able to form sounds which sounded like words. but the processor was very slow or something. that was 4 decades (nearly 5) ago
for the past 2 decades they have been improving this. they have mapped out pretty much all words in thought as well. they also sense your breathing and such knowing your fears.
