I do, but that's because I don't really believe almost anything. I just know what I have the current best evidence for, and I use that as my model for thinking about any given issue. Sometimes I'll argue for a position I might not actually see as convincing initially, just so I have a vehicle by which to explore a subject.
In this case, every single major economist agrees on this, immigration is good for the economy and a necessary solution to the ageing population of developed nations. I'm not being disingenuous, it is literally true, I have not seen any mainstream economist argue otherwise.
Of course when you say that, the first response is "hehe economics jedi science". -

It's not even an option. Reasonably, pure capitalism has way more fundamental and unaddressed problems than even pure communism. It's just that it's much easier to adapt into a reasonable system by compromising on the points that cause those problems, and that point is usually "I principally believe the government should not intervene in commerce". -

you have to remember at some point in history, both yours and mine, it made alot of senses to claim that the earth is flat ;
anything make senses if and when you dont know anything about them.
theres a reason why a certain country cant progress no matter how much efforts had been put into developing it, and thats due to the nature of their population.
