In my ideal utopia, that would be true for mobility of labour and trade, but not necessarily in other political/administrative aspects.
Until we reach the point where every individual is able to make perfectly informed and perfectly rational decisions for themselves, there will always be borders defined by a group of people who band together for administrative reasons and want things to be run a certain way because it suits their situation better. The rising tide lifts all ships. America can both benefit itself and fix other countries simultaneously by making intelligent decisions befitting of its position on the world stage.
The best example would be Mexico; ideally if we promote free trade, we could literally include the entire Mexican market as part of our consumer base as well as our production base, and both Mexico and the US would reap gigantic economic benefits from this, there are way more resources to leverage, there will be a new market for low end substitute goods to compete for which will make things cheaper for people in the US as well, etc etc etc.
That's the beauty of economics; if you are not a fucking ignorant retard, you would understand that it's not a zero sum game, and improving Pakistan or anywhere else isn't mutually exclusive to improving any other place. Everyone literally can win. -

Because mentally retarded right wingers don't understand that labour is literally the single most important economic resource (at least until automation fucks us all), and specially amongst lower cost goods and services, by far the biggest cost concern that businesses need to consider long term.
A higher supply of labour means lower cost of that labour, meaning businesses can provide their goods and services more cheaply and/or in greater supply. That means that the wages in that particular labour group will temporarily be depressed, but the rest of society gets access to an increased supply of goods and services, and if this was to happen in other sectors, then employees in this sector would benefit from that too. This is basically invariably a net benefit, because maybe the 50 employees in a factory are now being paid $9 and hour instead of the $11 they used to, but thousands of people are getting their product more cheaply, plus these employees go and spend their salary on other sectors and float those the same way.
That's what economic growth is. You have more consumers and producers in your economy, you can leverage greater economies of scale, your labour supply is bigger so you can produce more for less etc. The general amount of wealth in your economy improves and the standard of living in your society at large goes up.
Like I said, society is fucking fine. It's only getting better. It is just you triggered niggers who are afraid of brownies so you think that is an inherent problem rather than actually looking at outcomes.
Uh I don't know, maybe because you don't want the western world to grind into economic unviability in under a century due to ageing populations?
Maybe things would be better if racist whites' basic motivation behind all their political beliefs wasn't "I'm not used to seeing darkies so they must be bad", and necessitated these non scientific racial divisions, which honestly should have zero impact on policymaking.
