GTA 3 has the greatest soundtrack of all the games.

Vice City has all the hits and the best atmosphere.

I can barely talk shit on Vice City. That game is done up tight. Would pay for an HD re-release in a heartbeat.

    Wrong again.
GTA 3 had a much better atmosphere and music.

GTA IV was pretty boring but I'll give it credit for its atmosphere ... driving around Liberty City while it's raining, listening to the jazz station ... mmmmm

IV could have been great if only they had added more content and given it a better story

I wonder when GTA VI will be around ... hopefully they'll release one this generation rather than wait for the PS5 ... which won't be out until 2020

They've been selling that combo for years lol. I remember buying it for ps2, for 20 bucks, back in 2010 or so.

Yeah, GTA3 was a decent game for the time but it was immediately obsolesced by Vice City which was better in every dimension. By contrast, both VC and SA have something to set them apart from their sequels.

Controversial opinion time: 5 was better than SA. I loved SA and I spent so many hours on the turf war segment and had a blast. The map was huge, vehicle selection was dank, it was one of the best games of it's era. It was probably even more fun to play than 5. But 5 actually managed to elbow its way into being a game I would call art in a way SA didn't. The graphics and city design and general atmosphere of 5 was incredibly well crafted. It wan't just fun zany shit packed together because that's what's fun, there was a coherent overarching vision that went into the game, exploration of (some) character motives, and enough tech polish for 3 separate EA games.

The story was hot garbage compared to VC, world had less variety, the approach to graphics given the hardware of the era was kinda interesting but ultimately didn't end up being any better than VC, driving was worse, vehicle variety was worse.

Really, name one thing you thought 3 did better than VC.

I literally had to google the name of the protagonist for GTA III. His name was Claude, apparently. He's even named like a worthless piece of shit. And oh yeah - he couldn't fucking talk.

Ray Liotta voiced Tommy Vercetti. A name I will never forget, from a game that's equally unforgettable. VC was infinitely better than GTA 3.

Jeeeeez. Calm down. It's okay that you're nostalgic and that you like GTA 3 despite its objective mediocrity. All I did was point out another thing Vice City undeniably did better - the voiced protagonist. You say GTA:SA is better than GTA:V because it has more "fun" - you know what's not fun? A gritty crime drama game with a silent protagonist. You know what is? A quirky 1980s Miami Vice crime game where the protagonist is voiced by Ray Liotta.

No reason to be so hostile.~

"GTA 3 despite its objective mediocrity"

It's the best in the series and one of the greatest games ever released.
Just because you weren't able to appreciate it doesn't take away from its brilliance.

This type of thinking is what killed gaming
