In many cases weight is useless and genetically it will place itself in areas that are predesigned according to your specific code. Muscle is different...it's built on eating proper foods and working out hard. Cyclists are some of of the best competitors in the world considering they are also lower in fat, higher in endurance as well as oxygen levels and whatever muscles they do have are fully utilized. For example most body builders have weight and yet some can't even run. A cyclist can move well to running, swimming and tri events and even if he can't lift as much usually he will be more fit. What I'm saying you would not be fitted for body building...yet you could be suitable for cycling, running, swimming, martial arts and this is what you should focus on. Remove the drugs and in time your body will readjust and without becoming fat using proper exercise you still will put on the weight you need. -

ive known many ectomorphs that built up significant body mass and are literally not recognizable to their original physique.
it takes years and years (depending on the individual) to change their bodies natural desire to maintain a specific form by following the bodys natural desire to evolve into what the demands being forced on it are. in other words an ectomorph would be a good runner or bicyclist and thats how their body is going to stay: skinny. if an ectomorph wants to be muscular theyre going to have to make their body do 'stuff' that is going to force the body into bulking up…and running/cycling/cardio ain't it…
regardless, every individual is different. ive seen huge bodybuilders in gymnastics that were almost as agile as the preteen girls and every time they did their floor routine the whole building would shake. literally…not exaggerating. ive seen ectomorphs that could bench more than huge bodybuilders.
The ability to gain muscle is genetic also. Skinny dudes need to consume a lot of protein...a lot. And maintain that consumption. An ectomorph isn’t ever goin to be as strong as a mesomorph,for the pure fact that measurable strength is a numbers game. A stockier,more proportioned guy has less distance to push weight. All the worlds strongest people are mesomorph or even endomorph. -

Only takes a month to tighten up the ligaments. Another month to get all the lactic acid in check. Shit ton of protein/amino acids and 7 months later 25lbs of muscle 👍🏻 Check out the book ‘power eating’ it is a go to. -

Don't listen to the moronic butt fucker...he's a loser. My first observation is that you're very depressed and if you're taking any meds this could be your main problem. If not, before starting any training program you need to do blood and urine tests first, a stress test and check what vitamins and minerals you need or if you have any parasites or toxins present. Most druggies have these issues and you'll get nowhere unless you have these facts first by getting off all recreational drugs. Then you need a good diet with sufficient protein and removal of all junk food with lots of water daily to flush the system out. Lifting even minimal weights at this point won't help much if your mental status is poor with no focus. Why you need a program that teaches both psychological strength and strong work outs to build confidence. I would start with something like Aikido from an expert and a school where you can make friends for support and no steroid use. Even three times a week would be good to start with and slowly add weights along with a secondary sport like running, cycling or swimming. Something you like and that doesn't bore you. You've been like this for some time...rushing into a dramatic life change will only make you more frustrated and less excited. Most important factor...don't listen to anyone negative and push yourself positively even if you fall back a few times. This is something you do individually and with your teacher you set goals. -
