because the US hasn't had to deal with an actual war that threatened their home soil since the civil war, so your average person's understanding of what war actually is is limited, to say the least

Exactly, the closest thing to war on us soil was a single firebombing mission by a japanese sub plane which did pretty much fuck all

It should be mandatory that everyone who supports a war be assigned to the front lines of that war. Their entire family should have to be enlisted as well. See how many wars they need then.

"When they bombed Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, El Salvador
and Nicaragua I said nothing because I wasn’t a communist.

When they bombed China, Guatemala, Indonesia, Cuba, and the
Congo I said nothing because I didn’t know about it.

When they bombed Lebanon and Grenada I said nothing because
    I didn’t understand it.

When they bombed Panama I said nothing because I wasn’t a drug
    dealer.

When they bombed Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and
    Yemen I said nothing because I wasn’t a terrorist.

When they bombed Yugoslavia and Libya for ‘humanitarian’
reasons I said nothing because it sounded so honorable.

Then they bombed my house and there was no one left to speak
out for me. But it didn’t really matter. I was dead."

    that's the other part.

For a few people war is a huge money printer, for the majority of the rest it's a fireworks show on the other side of the world. I like how Frankie Boyle described their (and ours I guess, to a lesser extent) perception of war - "They send their kids to go kill people on the other side of the world, then when they come back they make movies about how sad all that killing made them"

The Bilderberg Group, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Group.

The majority of our president's cabinet are from these,no matter which political party is in office.

CFR hammers out US foreign policy, typically the president is able to override it if necessary but it's hardly ever done

On the topic of foreign relations, I find it interesting that Trump was hamstrung in an unprecedented way - he cannot change US foreign policy toward Russia without Congress's consent

The US economy is entirely dependent on senseless wars. If they didn't have all these senseless wars, their whole economy would collapse.

it wouldn't collapse, the rich just wouldn't get as much and everyone else would have more to spend.

"The Council on Foreign Relations, together with a great number of other associated
    tax-exempt organizations
, constitutes the invisible government which sets the major policies of the federal government; exercises controlling influence on governmental officials who implement the policies; and, through massive and skillful propaganda, influences Congress and the public to support the policies."
