I'm not deeply familiar with Marx's ideas, but just like any other he has some that make perfect sense and some that are completely untenable (largely due to misunderstanding or misinterpreting human nature, so he was probably an awtist. lol) just like any other. -

In what way is intellectual property given an advantage in the market? I'm the first to admit that the US gleefully concocts legislation in hopes of making art and media as easily exploitable for profit as manufacturing, and has no qualms about bullying both its own citizens and other countries into filling the coffers of american media production outfits. But this doesn't seem to be so much of an "advantage" as "reintroducing the status quo" of manufacturing to a newly profitable (for the US) market. We've done essentially the same thing with anything we make a buck of exporting.
But I mean even without that, it wouldn't mean US manufacturing is worth shit anyway. The coasts remain the economic center of the country regardless. -

- almost zero production cost after the first time
- ability to license the product to crush secondary markets
- unprecedented ability to control how the buyer uses the product
etc. etc. etc. it gets worse as companies move to subscription models.
that's actually something I strongly agree with in terms of communism; the economy should be based on labour and production rather than rent and speculation. -

But the alt- right aren't the ones rallying to have Roseanne fired. The left's politics are pervasive in every book and cranny of life now. There's no such thing as disagreement. If you wrong-think- even if it happens to be backed up by statistical data, FBI crime stats, direct contradictory quotes, etc- they will campaign to ruin your fucking life. -
