Until I gave up caffeine a few weeks ago.

I love loose leaf! I like an earl grey, but I'm picky. I have this aged Numi brand eg but it's a bit harsh when steeped how I like black tea steeped, and muted when understeeped. I use 1&1/4 tsp steep ~4mins. It's an Indian assam black, and perhaps I just don't care for assam as much as other negro teas..

Then I have an Iron Goddess of Mercy (Tie Guan yin) Oolong tea from China, pretty expensive, from Tealyra. Very smooth, buttery almost, resteepable multiple times, and has those different complex flavors that change every 30 additional seconds you steep it! Start at about 2-2:30 mins, take a sip, put back in for 30 secs, sip, and repeat until you find that sweet spot. Or keep going because you might hit an even better sweet spot!

Oh, and with Oolong since it is kinda between a green and black tea, you want to pour it just slighty under boiling temp. Just let the kettle cool from boiling 15 seconds or so before pouring.

When I get back into tea I got my eyes on some dragon pearls. Oh, speaking of pearls, green tea with jasmine is the bomb diggity! Need to sample white tea yet too.

Black tea, I got some from India and Pakistan. It's hard as fuck, the English breakfast tea is like light weight compared to it. I love tea, not into coffee that much. But i keep it simple, black tea.
