    Yeah, doing user image hosting would require infrastructural changes, increase hosting costs, require a bunch of code as well as administrative time to prevent abuse. Meanwhile there are a number of image hosts who have already solved this problem. Even if it didn't require the extra effort, it's just feature bloat from the perspective of forum software.
