Anyone print 4x6 or 5x7 pictures at home? Like on nice thick glossy photo paper.
I have access to a giant printer that can print huge posters on all types of paper, glossy, etc. I only used it once though, I rarely need to print anything that large.
I'm sure some home printers can print on the glossy paper. I'm fond of the Epson Eco-tank series printers with the refillable ink bottles. Best fucking printer I ever had at home.

Most of the HP printers with 2 carts are pretty good even with low grade gloss paper...I hate the Brother ones with 6.

ive never seen a printer that a normal homeowner could afford that was comparable to a even a mediocre commercial printer

Probably true...my HP can be pretty costly if you do a lot of work. Good...but for limited. Scanning is usefull though...simple with the software. The Brother was awful...ink ran out fast and wouldn't print unless all the carts were full. Not good for pics and doesn't mesh well with computers.

fun fact: the printers at those 'do it yourself' places are digital. meaning...when they scan a hardcopy to print it as a copy of the original, the image is stored in a hard drive. the exact same type of hard drive in any regular home PC.
obviously the images from digital media are held there as well
guess what the bored film-machine attendants do with those hard drives and your pictures.

Like the guys who want to trade in their computers and pedos get caught when the feds are called.
