Daddy was a cop On the east side of Chicago Back in the U S A Back in the bad old days In the heat of a summer night In the land of the dollar bill When the town of Chicago died And they talk about it still -
2018-05-30 at 3:42 AM UTC§m£ÂgØL used to. PC still does.
-
2018-05-30 at 3:47 AM UTCI used to. I still maintain an apartment downtown.
-
2018-05-30 at 3:48 AM UTCWhat's downtown like. I mean I understand Southside is the crazy area.. but how's downtown. Is it pretty cool. Isn't that were Chris Farley passed away?
-
2018-05-30 at 3:50 AM UTCIt's dope. The coolest thing about living downtown is how chill it is at night. Barely any cars for a big city, you can legit walk around and have a lot of fun but it's still really low key, it's a great energy.
-
2018-05-30 at 3:51 AM UTCI might visit it and then maybe push through to my friends hometown.
-
2018-05-30 at 4:05 AM UTCI live about an hour and a half away.

Why did you leave NYC? If I was set there, with Job and a home.. I'd never leave. except during the worst of the winter (to visit Cali)
all the movies in the 60s and 70s (not cowboy films) seemed to be about NYC. I think that's why I romanticize it over the Bay Area that everyone wants to live in. here not there. -

So I guess it was Darth Beaver (or whatever his name was) that was from the Bronx and you were from where again.. Queens? Brooklyn or Statin Island?
NYC is losing it's pocketed accents except Bronx Did you and Darth ever cross paths? -
2018-05-30 at 5:40 AM UTCChicago is kind of a shit city imo. It's very overwhelming and even downtown has bums. I've seen people sleeping on the sidewalk just a block or two from the loop. Doesn't really offer anything any other city doesn't have, besides abundant deep dish pizza.
It's not a very safe city either. People get mugged/robbed regularly downtown, even in broad daylight. And don't ever ride the CTA late at night. Someone got stabbed on it just a week or two ago. I once saw someone get tased by cops for trying to purse snatch in the loop.
I generally hate being in cities though. Especially with those towering building mazes and such. I've been in a few I liked but Chicago is basically the embodiment of everything I hate in a city.
Plus it takes like 2-3 hours to even leave the Chicagoland area. So glad I moved out of that whole sprawl. -

Well yes you fantasize about what New York is because you never lived there. I lived in New York for 35 years of my life and yes there are lots of good things. There is also lots of bad things crime cost of living not always feeling safe. For me personally it was a great experience but I'm glad I'm not living there anymore and I can always go visit. I have family there still.
