Can't you go into a stereo/electronics store and try them out?

If you're just looking for an indoor bluetooth speaker (rather than cd/dvd/whatever player integrated) the sony muteki's not bad for the price

You're probably best off looking for a satellite/surround set in good condition on craigslist or trading post or something. Just check out reviews first, head-fi.org is good, just ignore the guys that only talk about high end stuff and 'need' solid gold cables or some shit

You can buy a Google Chromecast Audio and a cable to convert it's 3.5mm output into RCA, so you can plug it into the Aux port of old stereos.

Audio Technica LP60 (or the LP120 if you want to spend a little more) turntable and then pick up some speakers from thrift/goodwill...anything with built in speakers is going to be shit.

Apparently bluetooth audio isn't audiophile quality (I can't tell the difference, it's just what I heard).

Klipsch RP-150M speakers are great and compact.

    lol

the actual bluetooth protocol is fine unless you've got DSD recordings, in which case it doesn't have enough bandwidth to transmit the full data. The latest bluetooth spec (4.0 I think?) has dramatically expanded bandwidth as well as lower power use, so even pediophiles with high-res audio files shouldn't have an issue with it

to be fair though, the DAC used in most bluetooth headphones/speakers is pretty shit though. Some of them are good, most aren't

I can't have a bluetooth speaker where I am...I've tried 3 and all 3 pick up interference from fucking cell phone beeps and rings.

that'd be the shitty unshielded speaker, not the bluetooth component - bluetooth jumps bands and authenticates to avoid interference
