the worst case scenario in iran would be an 80s-esque soviet union/afghanistan fiasco. most likely is a current syria situation. that doesnt take into account the US offering bribes...such as 'hey...what is $120/bbl oil worth to youz guyz, oy?' if that offer was on the table the abrams would roll across the iranian border with russians giving away the gasoline to fuel them. during the korean war the US literally destroyed every viable structure in the country...and that was with a chinee/russkie threat and a minute fraction of the bombing capability the US possesses currently. additionally the US defense budget is something like more than the next 8 or 10 highest-budget countries on this planet.
