I know you're high if you're gonna put GTA 3 in first and not Vice City or San Andreas. Smh.

    I quit drugs

I just happened to have grown up with the series and lived in those world's my whole life.
GTA 3 is an absolute masterpiece, only patricians understand its greatness.

I didn't include the dlc because they're not legit entries or even expansions.
That spic guy is annoying as hell and in the other you literally play a jedi.

GTA3 was amazing at the time, it created a whole genre and is arguably responsible for the current state of gaming and its obsession with open-world sandboxes. Sure. It was a technical landmark in gaming.

But that's more a result of when it was released than it is the actual quality of the game relative to later installments. 🤔

Playing GTA 3 for the first time back in the day is still the most mind-blowing experience I have ever had.
The only thing that could come close is trying out full-immersion virtual reality.

Nah the quality is god tier
The music, level design, characters, missions etc
It's back when rockstar actually had juice now they're all flair and no substance.

The gameplay of the old GTAs sucks in comparison to GTA IV and V- to kill people you had to run out in open space and try and take everybody out before they kill you

Seems to me like you're confusing a game phenomenal for its time (literally nearly 20 years old) + your own nostalgia as an 11 year old for actual objective quality

It was also back when GTA actually felt like GTA

Since Vice City the series lost the same feel and magic
San Andreas might as wekl have been considered its own game.
GTA IV onward doesn't feel at all like grand theft auto.

I heard the people who were the original devs are working on a new open world game that is supposed to span the entire planet ... Should be interesting to see how that turns out.

The old gameplay is actually more entertaining you're conflating the smoothness of the mechanics with the actual gameplay.
There was more to do in III than V.

V doesn't even have taxi/medic/police side missions except in tiny bits
Everything about V is shallow and dull there is nothing original or fun about that game
