   That particular writer I've never heard of before. The owner of the site (The Saker) is an ex-Russian military analyst, and is one of the best analysts I've come across - virtually everything he's written is worth absorbing. He shares a lot of similarly-themed columns from other writers as well, which can be very hit-or-miss though.

   I've said similar before, but the solution isn't to let everyone into the 'West', it's to stop ruining these peoples' homes so they have less reason to leave... The people in charge of policy aren't interested in stability or long term solutions though.
   
   Contrary to what you might interpret from what I post, I do care about the plight of actual refugees (not so much economic migrants, though they still are victims to a lesser extent), but unchecked migration and demographic change hurts them almost as much as it hurts the host society and culturally destroys both
