Democracy: The God that failed

  1. #1
I no longer support or believe in democracy, and it feels a lot like being an atheist pre-enlightenment must have felt. The mass delusion of monotheistic religion didn't disappear with the enlightenment, it simply transformed from the belief that a man in the sky created all life on earth and judges our actions according to a divine moral code to the perplexing idea that collective ignorance of the low IQ masses is not just the most effective way to determine the course of civilization, but the only acceptable means of decision making in modern (or postmodern) society.

As a member of the enlightened ones I must remain tight-lipped, because heretical thinking is unacceptable and will be punished with mob justice. Publicly pointing out crippling flaws in enlightenment philosophy and the deceptiveness of whig history would lead me to become a likely unemployed pariah. Yes, this is exactly like being an atheist hundreds of years ahead of his time. I am VERY smart.

I think our elites are far more of a threat than the low IQ masses.

Particularly those elites who control information and the supply of memes.

Well, of course. Much like organized religion, it's the elites who enforce the delusion since they benefit the most from it. Democracy is a social engineer's playground.

That said, NatSoc still beats communism. But you know, only because the Fuhrer was a pretty cool guy.

democracy is the supremacy of mob rules.

btw, you cease to live in a democracy a long long time ago. all there is today is capital feudalists, and each and everyone of you are your capital feudal lords subject.

Democracy is simply the only option, long term. That doesn't mean it's a good option, but it's the only game in town.

Well that or complete anarchy, but that's an even dumber idea.

the wording of the second paragraph makes me think you're being sarcastic, but I sincerely agree that the concept of (modern) democracy was defective and doomed to failure from the start, and likely designed that way

Well, a representative democracy like we do is probably the issue, it's just obsolete. We should have some sort of direct, electronically based democracy at this point. Every citizen gets a vote and some kind of blockchain-based security for their "vote account".

While I'm dreaming, maybe you could transfer USD to USDCoin and back it with the security of the democratic process.

That would just make things worse. We need less people voting, not more. Barriers to entry create a positive effect in democracies due to self selection. The people that make the effort to vote are more educated and make better decisions than the general population.
