    I haven't listened to metal in years, to be honest. Mostly it was just popular shit: Pantera, Metallica, and similar groups, though I think Nirvana's early, heavy material can be viewed as 'metal' in some aspects. I had the long hair and wore all black for a while. It didn't make high school better, but I got really good at guitar.

    too lazy to search up any other stuff but thats the gist. i think i need to get back into it a little, its a really hit and miss genre for me. usually ive been listening to thrash and power metal (lol) all my life.
    
    one thing that you cant take away from old school black metal, however, is how fucked up the scene was lmao. ironically it is also the most annoying part about it, nerds bickering amongst themselves about who is truv and who is a poser.

    I started out on bass, actually. I don't really play either anymore. I'm too busy, but I make time to jam on a guitar-ukelele for a good half hour or so a day, just to get creative juices flowing. The only downside to this instrument is that the nylong strings don't allow me to produce a pinch harmonic when I want to, but otherwise no complaints. Metal has too much gear, I prefer to keep it simple these days.
