2018-02-23 at 4:12 AM UTCI always felt that banning anything is fucking stupid. I can get a full auto uzi easier than I can buy a 12 gauge at the gun shop. Not like criminals are suddenly going to heed to any rules. The very laws enforced only empower those who don't give a fuck them in the first place.

Making guns illegal would still make it harder for criminals. How many german gangsters have guns compared to American gangsters? Not many -

TBH idk that much about Germany. I know Aussies and Brits don't have easy access to them. I had an ex from Australia and her uncle was pretty thuggish and told me A Glock would go for about $2,500 over there and that nigga was pretty plugged as far as I knew. You're right though higher price still equals to less people having something. Don't really know where I was going with this lol. -

Yeah, I'm not saying it's what I'd want, but you can't deny that illegal guns = less guns.
Imagine if America suddenly banned guns (ignoring the constitution and the legal mess that'd occur.) The Government would declare it and maybe like they did with slaves, offer to buy the soon to be illegal item. People would sell out. Those who didn't would face harsh fines and maybe jail time. People would get scared of being arrested and just turn in their guns. There'd be some protests, but probably not enough for the government to be overthrown or anything.
Now only the criminals have guns, but because the flow has stopped they are getting less and less. They can't buy bullets for their guns, so now clandestine shops have been set up to produce them. Only the criminals can get guns, and only the criminals can get bullets. Because there are now fewer guns and fewer bullets, the price rises. It is now cost prohibitive for criminals to get guns, and we get situations like Reststop described where criminals are paying 5x the price just for a gun.
There would probably be people making guns as well, since gun culture is so big in America, but a lot of them would be shitty and dangerous. You'd probably see a lot of niggas blowing their hands off with their little pocket rockets.
It may take decades, but eventually this gun culture would die off. People might have guns, but they'd be afraid to shoot it. Any sound of a gunshot is now something that is investigated. It's much more of an event. You need to really make sure you're secluded just to fire your gun. -

It's a constitutional right but you have to go through A LOT of bullshit. There is only one legal gun store in Mexico.
That said, they're really easy to get thanks to the US.
If the US banned guns, people would probably import from overseas or get them from Canada. Neither of which are very good options for keeping up the current amount of guns. -

i think thats the chicken and egg question.
in order to have a civil war, you have to first have the freedom to bear arms. REAL ARMS, not your average toy guns.
and becos you did not have the real freedom to bear arms in the first place, you can not have a civil war. -

what you failed to consider is the well known and quoted 'military industrial complex'.
banning guns without shutting down these small arms manufacturers isnt going to work becos even if you managed to prevent the sale of guns in the US, they're just going to ''export'' them to some eastern european country and then bring it back halfway thru. -
