Its a thankless job they have to deal with alot of bullshit for and they had to learn all kinds of bullshit they didnt need to just to get there. Even if you don't have a prescription for anything, think about doing something nice for a pharmacist sometime. On a holiday walk up to the counter and hand them a card with $5 inside, or just smile at them and say "hello there :-)".

i dont see that happening

Well if they are tired/stressed they could give someone the wrong medication and possibly kill them. That thought alone would be stressful enough for me.

Your pharmacist doesn't want you giving them money. Sweets are a great way to suck up, however.

What does a pharmacist do, really? Sit around. Take calls. Make calls. Give medical advice. Pretty easy 14 hours if you ask me. Ever do manual.labor for 14 hours? Pays less.
2018-02-20 at 5:59 AM UTC
yes i have labored for 14 hours, and it wears on you if you do it regularly. I think if I invested 8 years of diligent study and a heap of money I would expect something pretty cushy

Fuk that. I don't like money that much.

Every pharmacist I have ever spoken to apart from one was a complete moron. Didn't know what he had in stock, didn't know what preparations something was available as (cream, drops, etc), didn't know if stuff was prescription only or not, just general brainlessness.
And they always lecture you about stupid shit. Like if you buy disprin (asprin) they'll ask you if you have any stomach problems, and if you buy Nurofen Plus (which has a small amount of codeine) they'll warn you about constipation. It's so obviously all a scam to keep themselves employed, and it's ridiculous.
