2018-02-11 at 10:57 AM UTCI read a story about a dude who had a 10 year hold on a $400,000 check when he sold his home and now he's in court trying to get his money while the banks just get interest off his money.
What the fuck. -

My boss got mad at me because he said she could come in and I was like FUCK HER MAN we don't go into her place and try and sell brake jobs and shit.

A local bank does that here. I repeatedly tell her that until their bank can match the benefits of the bank I am currently with, I will never bank with them. They give me free post-it notes and pens though. Oh well. -
2018-02-11 at 3 PM UTCA little insight to banks here, although it doesn’t directly relate to the problems presented.
If you don’t have a lot of money in your account and you historically don’t carry a large balance and you try to deposit a check that is larger than your current balance, a bank can put a hold on it for like 5 business days to make sure it clears. This is so they can make sure you don’t withdraw against the check and then the check doesn’t clear so the bank is out that money. This is especially true if it is an out of state check or one that doesn’t look like a legit operation, like a personal check.
Also, checks go stale dated after 6 months. If you don’t deposit or cash your check within 180 days of the date it is written, banks don’t have to honor it. -

Bullshit, when you sell or buy real estate it's done with a certified cashiers check. You simply inform the bank it is drawn against that you require the funds and give them the time to have the notes shipped to the location. Banks keep very little cash on hand. Even a sum as low as $15,000 is difficult to obtain in cash without prior arrangement. This can usually be resolved in less than 5 business days. So either you or the story is full of shit or you memory and or athletic abilities sucks. Either way you're the retard. -

false.
while it does depend on the individual bank itself, and the amount of actual cash on hand varies depending on the day...and even the time of day...they keep enough cash available in their vault to accommodate any reasonable transaction.
they lie about that whole 'we only have $20 in cash' thing.
and, wachovia is a shit bank...dont ever use them. i think they even went out of business. -

Wachovia doesn’t exist anymore. Wells Fargo bought them like over 10 years ago lol.
And Wells Fargo is just as bad or worse -
