I don't mean to romanticize NYC like that pedo Woody Allen in all of his films, but related to films, I was born in the mid 60s.. and I watched lots of films. I love old Cowboy Films and I love films about NYC.. even the sleezy NYC (which kind of weirds me out today.. but films about Irish or Italian neighborhoods and that thick Brooklyn or Bronx accent was appealing to me.
I even like some of Woody Allens films. Sleeper (which wasn't filmed in NYC) was a good one, but his other films like Annie Hall are good. Even though he likes fucking his adopted kids. -

yes, i lived there...i was born there. back then there were a lot of spics and niggers but nowhere near as many as there are now.
the last time i was there was the 2000's and while the subways and streets are cleaner it is still a shithole...a sub-thirdworld shithole, at that.
when i was little, kids could go outside and play and not have to worry about getting abducted, raped, murdered, or randomly shot. when i would ride the subway even though the adults wouldnt get the fuck out of the way it was a simple matter of us wearing our back-packs backwards and using the weight of the books to push the adults out of the way. now thatd get you stabbed/acid-ified/shot. the 'gangs' when i was little were punks who kept their stabbings/baseball-battings/screw-driverings to themselves. now they shoot up half a city block and hit everyone but who theyre aiming at. -
