I remember once I asked out a girl and she said she'd date me once she gets back from her vacation since she needed to pack, even though she didn't leave 'til a week later. Wtf kind of excuse is that? I don't care if you're a woman, you do NOT spend a whole week 24/7 fucking packing.
So when she came back and the date finally came, I stood her up. It was one of the most fulfilling moments of my life; she was pissed. One of the few times I actually had some backbone and followed through with a revenge plan. I hope to do something like that again one day. :)
Anyway, as for packing wtf do I take? I don't take clothes since I've decided I'll just buy them when I get there. I hate my wardrobe anyway. So I'll take shoes, my laptop, phone and laptop recharger, mouth guard (I grind my teeth at night), hair product, blow dryer... don't need toothbrush; will buy cheap disposable one when I get there.

I almost went to Fiji once but then my flight got canceled because of a hurricane. Went to Melbourne instead.

passport and cash should go without saying
a lot of people just pack their carry-on bag with what they need and bring an empty luggage bag for bringing stuff back
