I want to buy a CNC machine but I'm afraid it'll be another thing I buy for a hobby and never use.

or you can use it to entice teenage boys who're into this sort of things.

shiny metal parts always attract boys like open flame to moths.

they have nowhere near the strength required for certain applications.

You can get metal scintering 3D printers that literally fuse metal powders nowadays, but they're prohibitively expensive

    sintered metal?

thats the weakest metal out there...on par with foamed aluminum.

if someone wants cheap/easy, 3D printers are the way to go. if they want durable their only option is milled and/or forged...which isnt cheap or easy.

I worked in a metal shop once, not to long ago.

Is there any real money in this though?

That's what I kind of figured. Seems like most things I can make, I can just buy for cheap. If I invent something, it's going to be just made for less than what I make it for. Unless I get creative.

I have an idea for something else but haven't really started yet...

Yu got an idea for something you would like to build?

I'd also like to have a small metal workshop but I don't know how often I'd use it. I got a 3D printer and I never really use it.

It's an art idea I have. I work on it occasionally.
