anyone ever withdrew from benzos?

  1. #1
I was taking like 2-3 mg etizolam daily for a few months. Before that I had a month long break but before that was another couple months of daily/almost daily use. Anyways I tried to stop by tapering, just seeing how low I could go without feeling anxious. I went down to 0.7 mg the first day and that still had me feeling decent but also still kinda anxious at the same time. The next two days I took 0.4 mg and was kinda anxious. Yesterday I took nothing and felt basically the same, slightly anxious and with these little muscle jerks randomly.

Anyways it hasn't been so bad so far. But I've been sleeping like shit. I read online about people going through like months of benzo withdrawal and saying it's terrible and stuff but I kind of have a feeling those people probably has previous mental problems and relied on the pills from their doctor to keep them straight. My friend was on kpins for like 12 years and he tapered down, and he still takes benzos regularly but also goes through periods where he doesn't have any at all, because he'll pick up his script and binge on it until it's gone, or pick up a bunch of bars and binge on those, and he says he "barely notices it" and that it lasts like a day.

    Anyways, anyone have any experience?

Yeah, I withdrew from clonazepam and etizolam. Had a couple seizures, wound up in the ER where some greedy chink doctors tried to suck me into their neuro network and put me on a bunch of anticonvulsants.

I am prescribed clonazepam, but I want to try xanax but I feel like I already know what would happen.

What do you think is causing the majority of withdrawal?

Aren't you a med student? Just wondering, how will you balance a...love for drugs or whatever with being a doctor? Seems like a profession where we wouldn't want any recreational usage going on.

The etizolam was far worse for me than clonazepam, amnesia and other terrible side effects, but I'm not sure which caused the withdrawal because I used so much of both.

I'm not a medical student, though I may apply one day if my stats are competitive enough. I probably wouldn't have time to do drugs if I were in medical school or a doctor, but if I did I'd keep it a closely guarded secret.

Don't go looking up stories of benzo withdrawal on the internet, whatever you do.

I was on clonazepam (3mg) for 4 years. Came off of it fine. I don't know about the etizolam.

Etizolam and xanax used daily for 4 years. For about a year i was using bare minimum 15mg etiz per day. I suggest quitting now while its still not too bad.

All I need to say(without even reading the OP) is don't use other drugs to replace other drugs. It's like putting another band aid on top of another band aid. That's a best case scenario. Worst case scenario the second band aid is worst and actually somehow even more harmful than the first or just compounded the shittiness of the first one. I am very tired and probably need a good two extra hours of sleep.

I was once hardcore addicted to benzos, just whatever, I had a box with mail order clonopin and xanax and lorazepam IIRC, it was like a sweet box. Just weaned myself off over two or three weeks.

Benzos addiction experience made me better and really helped with my anxiety. I have to say mail order benzodiazapeines and becoming addicted were on the whole a positive thing for me, and really helped me straighten myself out.

You never really hear about the positive drug stories.
