dont use compressed air. blowing it will only make them go further into the computer,

and then theyll be like stuck highlighter.

I've done the spraying thing, I think it needs new paste.

Only specific keys on the keyboard don't work, and it happened just a few minutes after the spillage occurred. Thought it was dry so I turned it back on :( Worked 100% for a while then poof. MOST of the keys do still work. I haven't checked the connection yet. Waiting on my kit. I can always return the keyboard if it seems its that simple, but it doesn't sound like that's the issue. Hope you're right tho

as I said, it probably just needs to dry.

Or get a MSI Trident3. I got one for free this xmas. With the Trident3, you can upgrade parts and you have full control over your OS.

It's been three days. More than enough time to dry. Let's check if my keyboard is still broken by typing "weeeee"

    Yep, still fucking broken.

No, it's possible there is vapour still stuck in there, that's why I'm still saying it. I spilled iced tea on my laptop and it stayed fucked up till I popped the back, didn't even do anything to fix it, just popped the back to inspect it, put it back on and bingo, working as well as always.

typically it'll be residue, sugar in tea or just dirt or salt in water - if that's the case you'd need to flush it with distilled water then allow to dry. in his case it's more likely that there was a short that caused permanent damage though

This is what I was thinking. It wasn't even a lot of water either.

Makes sense too considering the broken keys are all close together and not all ones that got spilled on.

I'll open it up for the lulz tho

It was unsweetened, I didn't put sugar or anything in it. It's worth a shot to get in there with compressed air before he tries anything else, specially if he's planning on doing a repair, he'll need compressed air to clean it out before closing it up anyway.

Why do you think I haven't done this already? How could it be anything but a short at this point?

Seriously, when I get time to play video games I want to just be able to sit down in front of the TV in a comfy chair with a glass of booze and get drunk and not have to worry about software updates or drivers or anything.
When I had more time I used to be into PC/Mac gaming and everything, but right now consoles suit me better.

You don't need to get software or driver updates all the time, it's not 1997 any more, you retard.

If you want to sit down and play in the couch, get a Steam Link + controller for like $30 on sale, it's basically like taking your PC and using it to power a console.

But a lot of these developers nowadays use some DRM bullshit that makes you log in to their server or download an update almost every time you wanna use the game. Console games too.

I swear to god I should just pirate shit from now on I’m getting tired of it

Every time I launch steam it does an update. The steam controller is just awful. I have a laptop and a linux box, and I like having my laptop and phone with me when I'm playing games so I can check stuff. Some of us multitask. We are not all hard core 30 year old gamers.

I haven't experienced any significant inconvenience because of it. Most of them let you just remember your sign in and/or link their account system with Steam. For example I got For Honor, it uses Uplay but I didn't even need to log in because earlier I had purchased Rainbow Six Siege and refunded it (what a shitshow of a game btw. Lots of potential but visibility was AIDS) but my account was still saved with Steam.

You must have a magic second branch of Steam because this isn't the case for me.

Unless you're talking about game updates, in which case either uninstall the games you don't play, change autoupdate settings for them so they don't update without your permission, or just ignore them and let them run in the background (it automatically pauses updates when a game is playing).

The steam controller is just awful.

Then hook an Xbox or PlayStation controller into it. Both have wireless adapters for use with computers. The PlayStation 3 and 4 controllers also don't need an adapter at all (it's just a convenience thing if you want it) because Steam Link supports Bluetooth devices.

I think the Steam Controller is fantastic but whatever, it's a PC, plug whatever you want into it

I fail to see how using the Steam Link prevents you from having your laptop or phone with you to check stuff on. It just sets up Steam's Big Picture mode, streams the game from your PC to your TV and sends back inputs from your controller.

Ok good info. I'd respect you for your knowledge of video games if you weren't 30 years old.
