   going to america this year, and landing in LA. I've heard from everyone that it's a dirty nightmare of a place with bums and druggos and overly trigger happy cops. This correct? Should I get out of there as soon as I land and go right to vegas?
   
   also, what are the best places on the west coast to visit?
