atheistism is the belief that gott doesnt exist.
and like the mantra of a just justice system .... that one shall remain ''devoid of guilt'' until such a time that person is proven to be at guilt ....
therefore .... unless and until you can prove that gott exists .... we must presume that gott doesnt exist and this universe to be devoid of gott. -

Because it's not an unreasonable belief that there is a "god" that essentially made "all of this." It may not be likely, or probable, but it's possible.
Claiming to KNOW what SPECIFIC deity did it, or how, or whatever, THAT to me is crazy, but believing that some...thing, a creator, made this, well, I get it. Its just as believable as two particles collided and made ten zillion stars. -

I don't disagree, but the justice system is flawed. There's a reason juries don't always all agree on what seem like clear cut matters. -

depends on how you define gott.Claiming to KNOW what SPECIFIC deity did it, or how, or whatever, THAT to me is crazy.

irregardless .... if you/juries dont think the possession of guilt is proven, then the court proclaims the defendant free from having guilt and let him walk. -

It's insane and disgusting how happy religious people are, even when living in complete shit. I visited an orphanage in Africa once, and those kids were far happier than I was.But today I realized something: atheism and nihilism gives me that effect instead.
Bullshit. They don't, as you don't have the social reinforcement, but those aren't even compatible philosophies. Atheism implies rejection of organised religion and organised belief in God, Nihilism it's it's edgy Russian cousin and denies belief in belief itself. In other words you're basically depressed, and pass depression off as a belief system. Nihilism is how jedis would deal with SAD during the long Russian winter. Anything is better than that, Scientology, Narcissism, whatever.
You could consider paganism if you still lived in Europe. I have no idea how new world people relate to Gods and ancestor worship and the like.I was having a panic attack,
I have panic attacks sometimes thinking about my past and how I screwed it up, but never about death. Back when I assumed I would die I realised how tired I was, and that wherever I wound up it was all just a ride and I needn't bother worrying about it at all. Death seems like one of those things that is nearly impossible to make a mess of. -

Ignoring semantics and definitions, what are you talking about? You don't believe that me realizing that once I'm dead, that's finally it, didn't calm me down? -
2017-12-31 at 12:11 PM UTCI don't understand why mmQ's (and clearly your own as well) position is so controversial. You claim to be an Atheist. That is just as extreme as me claiming to be Christian. I claim there is a God, without a doubt. You claim their isn't, with the same passion as I do. There is no room for wavering or questioning. It is what it is.
Some might argue both positions of extreme are retarded. Either way, either position is extreme. If you say "THERE IS NO GOD" you are just as extreme as someone who says, "There IS a God and his name is Jesus Christ, Vishnu, Buddha, Allah, etc."
mmQ is not wrong. -

I used to think the same thing as you and mmQ, but then I realized I was just in denial. There is no god. -

Your disgust sounds more like jealousy.
mmQ seems to be right here tho. Belief-wise, atheism is just as extreme as embracing a particular religion. -
