its been several decades since christmas had anything to do with jesus, except by uber-dedicated christian practitioners.
yea but thats not what i was talking about.
i said christmas was a jedi invention. without jedi jesus, people would have stopped celebrating winter solstice a long time ago just as they;d stopped celebrating summer solstice becos their retarded. -
2017-12-24 at 8:46 PM UTCthey wouldnt have stopped. it was a celebration with a basis in purpose...the 'shortest' day of the year and the beginning of daylight-times increasing. they may have forgotten the purpose but people always enjoy an excuse to celebrate something or instill a holiday.

The solstices are very important to people in the North, as they mark the day when the days start becoming longer. At the winter solstice here we have maybe 8 hours of poor quality daylight, and at the summer solstice the sun's glow can still be seen over the horizon all night long. Seasons really matter when you live in the far north (or south, but fuck those guys). -

Ever since I learned how many Christmas songs were written by jedis I've been feeling ear raped everytime I go to town. Oy vey!and people feeling forced to spend money they don't have on gifts people don't want
I like gifts. I think getting gifts is really super and thoughtful when it's something you like and use, but would never think of buying yourself (I'm super cheap). -

Traditionally Jesus was always assumed to be concieved at Easter, and then 9 months on from that is Christmas. The Pope will want to hear about this. So what was his birthday? They'll be buying tip-ex by the bucketful at the Vatican once you tell us. -

Shepherds don't have flocks in the field in December. That and the Vatican as a reliable source of truth? Now I know you're trolling nigga. -

its only important if your lives depend on plants growing.

I thought that was the idea with the manger?
TBH culturally Christmas is very European, and it's sort of assumed that there is snow and rain on Jesus the whole time.
However there is no specific reason to suspect that Jesus even existed at all. Granted, most anti-Jesus narratives have come from jedis, who hate the idea of Jesus almost as much as they hate the idea of Christians, but even so.
