psshhh you must be a normie if you think merzbow is so underground, ive listened to him for years. I got into him when i was 15 because I went and saw hair police and sonic youth, looked up stuff about noise music online and voila I found merzbow.

Know I don't own any of his albums, I haven't bought albums in years. But I have all his stuff on my external hard drive.

Well unlike you I deeply care about music so I prefer owning albums physically rather than just downloading files or streaming like a plebe such as yourself.

I was just curious as to how someone like you would know about merzbow or noise in general.
Back when I started getting into it it was still pretty much obscure, before /mu/ started spamming whitehouse and nurse with wound.

If only ever download files you have no say in music.
Albums are a ritualistic experience, they cause you to forge an emotional attachment to the album you will never get with files or streaming.
Also nice way of showing how surface level you are.
Besides the goyim labels, there are plenty of ways to buy directly through the musicians themselves.

Ive bought plenty of albums. Just i listened to so much music that i wouldnt have enough money to listen to all if it.

Plus its easy to pop in a usb drive w tons of music in my car . very convenient. Makes driving less hazardous that way. Sorry but not sorry the way i enjoy music is different than yours you lil nelly.

Go eat a cheezeburger. Lift some weights and put on some dark Angel and maybe your balls will finally drop.

I have a blue tooth lighter plug in that I connect through my IPhone and just play songs from youtube. Technically it isn't free because I'm still burning up data with each song I play but 10GB/month I'm usually good.

no, the record labels have ruined music by being so obsessed with making money. they've been stifling true artists for years in favor of promoting glorified karaoke singers that will submissively pump out formula led crap designed to appeal to the brain-dead sheep masses who only buy music because they've perceived that everyone else is currently listening to it so they can fit in and be fucking 'trendy'. its gotten to the point where every release is practically a carbon-copy of every other hit mashed together. that's not what art is about, art is about exploring and experimenting with new things. rap is a perfect example of this. a whole generation has been fooled into thinking that just because every other word rhymes that makes it somehow creative. what a fucking joke.

Streaming and files are for casuals/people who don't feel very strongly about music.
There is no way around that argument.
If you truly appreciate an album you want to own it physically and support the musician for the album.
The whole "b-b-but I go to their shows" argument doesn't work because you're paying for that particular performance, not the album you stole.
Also files/steaming is inherently inferior, your connection to the album is intangible, it's just text and images on a screen.

I prefer to own physical copies of albums I like myself, but it is true that most money made from album sales go to the record company. IIRC the artist makes roughly $2 from each album sold. The only way artists can make money is from tours and merchandise.

that's what the record companies want you to think you dumb sheep. its all about hearing/listening to the sound and how it makes you think/feel. which type of media that sound comes through is irrelevant.

i'm not even convinced you actually understand the concept of 'music' at all.

for me its just as much about the music video's with a lot of music. making it a whole audio-visual experience. i very much appreciate an artist that puts as much effort into the video as the song itself. these are true artists. these are very rare these days. 20 or 30 years ago there was less digital effects available to use in producing a music video so they had to get very creative to produce a good work of art. now a days the technology makes it so easy any cunt is making music videos in their bedrooms, but rely so much on the tech that they give up on the creativity. this is one of the reasons i appreciate die antwoord as its obvious the effort they put into their videos. unlike most rappers(sorry, i can't say rap artists) who just copy all the others and stand around wearing bling with a bunch of bikini clad chicks and waving cash around trying to look 'gangster'. its been done to death so much it should be labelled necrophilia.
