I think it's all the Mississippi river's fault some old-timers decided it was a good divider between East and West. Maybe population based or something, or else they just didn't geometry in schools at that point.
And it is actually common to refer to the Midwest as the Northland or the Northcentral region. I personally prefer the Frozen Tundra which is the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Michigan, home of the largest collection of mustard stained t-shirts in the world. -

2017-11-24 at 10:54 PM UTCI understand. I guess it's not really up to me to make that call but you're right, it's contagious to our simple American minds who so often seem to champion whatever is being blabbed on about in order to feel 'involved,' regardless of it even makes sense to them.
That's why you have your folks like Hikiko who are quick to profess the nation's problems are to blame on liberals, but can't or won't provide what exactly that means and who specifically fits that category.
We just want to hop on cringebook, say some buzzwords and make a few vague generalizations so as to appear 'in the know,' maybe throw out a couple 'so sad, thoughts and prayers' comments to remind everyone how sympathetic we are, and then get the fuck back to our whatever the fuck it is we do- being mad at Netflix for something and fist-fighting our family members over Starbucks coffee then uploading aftermath pics to Instagram. I think those are the three things that we do.
Needless to say, I'm just as guilty as mindlessly wasting away into my glowing rectangles, but I like to think I'm a tad more keen to the comprehension and understanding of our reality than "the masses" are.
Either way I lately sure as shit haven't been doing anything to 'make a difference, so my next best alternative is to observe and question, pick my battles and choose a more reverent approach as opposed to a screaming preacher's mentality of repetition and incistance.

You're the motherfucking stern Uncle Buzzkill at family gatherings that nobody is ever looking forward to seeing, grumpy ass never playing games or laughing, sneaking off downstairs to watch golf by yourself until you fall asleep in your chair after 4 hours of everyone else purposefully avoiding using the downstairs bathroom so they don't have to risk talking to you for even a couple seconds.
Meanwhile I'm easygoing Uncle mQ sipping a few brews, playing practical jokes on the kids and adults and eating olives off my fingers, bouncin around chatting a bit with everyone about a variety of topics that I don't insist be jedi related. Then trying to speed up dinnertime so we can go do something fun maybe hit up the bowling alley or shoot some pool, all the while got that smile on my face.
