I've never let myself go because I'm too insecure and self-aware about excess fat so even if I fall off the wagon (rare) I would simply fast for the next 18 hours. But yeah, don't neglect the diet, it actually takes less effort to eat at a deficit (less food). And when you do feel hungry even though you shouldn't eat, tell yourself "I'll eat in 10 minutes" and down 1 litre+ of water right there and then. Guaranteed appetite suppression.

2017-11-17 at 2:42 PM UTCThe place I just moved to has a pretty decent gym in the basement so I figured I'd take advantage and get back into shape. Sitting in a cell for 2 years doing nothing and eating the stodgy shit they feed you doesn't do you any good. Anyway I lost 4/5 kilo in the last 5 weeks by doing 2 to 3 hours in there most days and living on nothing but a bowl of cornflakes for breakfast and chicken stir fry for dinner. I only drink coffee with no sugar coz I stopped buying it completely. I was going through a kilo bag a week, which probably wasn't helping. It tends to make you feel lethargic when you use too much of that stuff. Making progress tho, I do more than double now than what I was able to do when I started a month ago.

i'm the only person in the house who uses it, which actually suits me perfectly. the reason i didn't use the prison gym is because i don't like using gyms with other people for the very fact that i've seen in the past how using gyms with others is very dangerous. it causes you to get competitive, which really is a bad thing in the gym. if you train because you compete then that's cool, but you must keep the competitiveness to the track etc. when you train you have to push to your own limit. when you in the gym with others and the next guy lifts more than you, it naturally causes you to feel inadequate. so you then feel compelled to up your game to match or beat what they lift. you are now pushing yourself to somebody else's limit, which is where it gets dangerous because you risk injury. and even when you've trained enough to be able to lift what they did, they've prolly trained to push more now, so you still can't keep up. this is where people then look at other ways to up their game, they start doing bullshit diets, spending stupid money on tubs of powder that promises to do what eating normal food does anyway. then when that doesn't work they get into eating disorders and doing steroids. the thing is there will always be somebody in a public gym that can do more than you, its a fucking minefield using those places. this is why i train alone and will always refuse to partner up with anyone. i compete with myself in the gym and no one else, period.

I dont think my problem is over eating. Im 5 foot 10 145/150 lbs i just think i got a gut the last couple years from copious amounts of alcohol. But the last two weeks ive cut back a lot
