We should have a D&D thread.

I play Half-Elf War Cleric. I like clerics, they remind me of a battle-mage from The Elder Scrolls. Also switching out spells whenever i want to for the win. Well, after 'a long rest'. Still super useful.

It was only really the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games that used D&D (or advanced D&D) rules (also Planescape Torment probably), most of the other 'western RPGs' like Fallout used a similar but more simplified system. FF and the other Japanese RPGs used a different paradigm altogether

My gnome had like 4 HP or something ridiculous like that. I just stayed in the back and cast spells and threw darts.

But yeah, Planescape: Torment is fucking awesome too. Great storyline and worldbuilding in that one.

it was one of the few I never got around to playing at the time - bought the remake on steam last time it was on sale, need to install it.

I wasn't sure if it used the standard D&D system because I heard the game mechanics were so different

Ya'll niggas are forgetting Wizards of the Coast did the whole Neverwinter Nights + Mask of the Betrayer thing. That took entirely place in D&D universe and basically was a video game adaptation of the rules with stats and items literally saying things like: Has a 2d6 chance to inflict [status]. And shit lol.

It instantly became my favorite game of all time after I played it. That spot had been reserved by A Link to the Past ever since I was a little kid, but man, I got so attached to the characters and shit. The philosophy and metaphysics are really profound without being overly I'm-so-deep about it, but it really got me thinking about life and existence and all that. I'm not sure if it uses the same rules and dicerolls and shit as BG2, but it's the same sort of mechanics, where it's real-time with pausing. And your alignment and class just kind of shift depending on choices you make throughout the game.

    indeed

Definitely the better game as far as plot and writing, though. Best writing I've come across so far in a game. BG2 is the other big name of that style, but it's more focused on the complex gameplay than a well-written world and story.

All threads should be HB until they collect 15 relevant posts or 40 posts off or on-topic, and then the SpaceMaster should move them as the SpaceMaster sees fit.

Additionally, fuck that description, fuck your mothers, a d&d role-playing online game should be in the games forum. The GAMES FORUM. That said, I couldn't be more truthful when I say I couldn't care less where any thread is put, ever. A general base sense of effort when making a thread seems reasonable, but again, I'm one of the 'latest threads' or 'subscriptions' searchers, so I probably would never even notice.

Lastly, I bet this idea never comes to fruition, and I say that in hopes that it does. Dibs on my character being red.

It was fun last night, but I'm too tired for it this morning.
  19. It's funner in California if you are 50 and arguing with an 80 year old (like you have done your entire life at all ages with a 30 year spread.. suddenly it's "Elderly abuse"

My Mom was laughing and would warn me anytime I tried to talk over her .. she used that on me several times. took the fun out of our fights.

Just for the record.. I always kissed her goodbye and always hugs. Fuck her neighbor who put that in her head to win every battle. *cops showing up like I just did a hit on my Mom and blood spattered everywhere*
