The golden ratio is such noob shit. Math describes the real world, including the natural world. The whole point of math is that the things that it describes are found naturally or are induced in some sort of system we build. It's interesting but not really remarkable at all that it shows up in nature, because many other things do too. It just so happens the golden ratio thing is simple enough for people who know nothing about math but think that they like "physics and science" (dinosaurs and space and neil dgt and bill nye) to feel intrigued by.
If you really want to have you mind blown go learn about calculus, differential equations, linear algebra and how you can apply them to the real world. That shit is infinitely more interesting than what some dumbass youtuber who probably spent too much time smugly thinking about how great he is while listening to tool has to say about anything.
