2017-10-27 at 4:57 AM UTCOnly stupid americans would ever buy and stock up on canned food like that. Food is all around us - I'd rather eat another person than even open a can.

an ax can triple as a hammer, and also a saw.
3 lighters and 4 boxes of matches would last you about 6 months. Not long. A magnifying glass will last for years. Using an ax as a hammer works, but it's an unnecessarily workaround, when you can simply use the proper tool. -

not if your a smoker.A magnifying glass will last for years.
not when its nuclear winter.Using an ax as a hammer works, but it's an unnecessarily workaround, when you can simply use the proper tool.
becos when you start using mag glasses to start fires ... your already a tool abuser. you dont abuse tools in one hand and then promote proper usage of tools in the other. -
2017-10-28 at 4:15 AM UTCcaveman/boyscout style with rubbing stick into wooden hole and some dried brush or whatever works.
your fireplace to cook in. if you don't have one grab some concrete tiles for decking and make one. of course I'd rather be inside and try not to have food smell traveling. hungry people and animals coming to visit you.
that's where that stove comes in. if you could power it with solar panel electricity. just one small kit to run at least one 110v appliance. -

It's all about practicality. It's not abuse, if the tool you are substituting with is more practical. Get with the program, benny. -

you clearly said ''proper'', ie; the designated tool for the job irregardless of their practicability ...
