2017-10-25 at 1:48 AM UTCThat's happened a few times that I know of - a shooting happens (mass or otherwise), the shooter is arrested or killed and gets found with 'explosives in his car' - turns out it was tannerite, a very low-order explosive used for long-range target shooting. Half the time it was still in it's binary form, ie. two inert components that haven't been mixed to form the explosive yet, but they still get crucified in the media and used as fuel for the 'white people never get charged with terrorism!' meme

Originally posted by infinityshock the explosive data was (as usual) vague, incomplete, and underwhelming. the reports were too media-inflated with not enough factual info
- it was something called 'tannerite' which is basically a cheap-ish explosive that is easy to obtain and can be detonated by shooting it
- where was it? multiple news reports give different quantities in different places, and multiple specific locations in those places. (where the shit in the car was it found…the trunk…front seat…back seat…was it in his house…or wasnt any in his house)
- what configuration was the 'explosive.' as in…mixed and ready to explode, or still in its un-mixed components and inert. in one, single container or in multiple smaller quantities. what specific container was the explosive/components actually in.
fuck the media…theyre useless.
I find it interesting how the story changes consistently. It's the only consistent thing about this shit. The media black out is what has me guessing -
2017-10-25 at 2:07 AM UTCIs there a realistic reason tannerite would be owned? How dangerous is it?

yes. its designed to be a 'toy' for people to play with. its two parts that are legal and harmless (-ish) when separate. once the two parts are mixed together is when it is an explosive and illegal to do anything with other than to 'play' with.
the intended purpose of the stuff is to add it to long-range rifle targets and shoot it. once hit with a high velocity bullet the stuff explodes.
obviously people push the envelope with the shit...in every conceivable manner. there have been people who died and maimed themselves from being too close and using too much of the explosive.
1-pound of the shit going off makes a very, very loud explosion. much louder and a 'sharper' explosion than a large-sized mortar fireworks. the two-inch ones.
if a quantity of the stuff is enclosed in a metal or constraining container it will explode 'harder' and create flying fragments at which point it is dangerous. in its intended use a paper/soft plastic target will shred and do little more damage than spray confetti everywhere. -
2017-10-25 at 2:15 AM UTCtypically it's used for long range target shooting - at 800m it's almost impossible to see where on the target you hit it, if at all. so you use a ball of tannerite as a target; if you hit it it pops and releases smoke.
the actual explosive compound itself isn't anywhere near as energetic as any of the primaries (or even gunpowder as far as I know) and isn't really practical for blowing up anything bigger than a stump. -
2017-10-25 at 2:38 AM UTCSo probably not a bomb, despite what is now reported. Probably just some dangerous fun?

2017-10-25 at 2:40 AM UTCWhy is this guy special? The media almost always blows things out of proportion about almost everything. Are they all false flags?

Unrelated but I wanted to see if you had seen this video which I'm assuming is similar to something you had mentioned closer to the shooting about doing audio analysis and ballistics comparison dealios to try and distinguish any potential multiple shooters. I don't expect you to watch the 30 minutes but what's your opinion? This guy seems like he's credible enough to be claiming there's another shooter. -

au-contraire...in quantity its a quite effective demolitions material. -

ive read every explanation: it was in separate containers...it was mixed...it wasnt mixed...it wasnt assembled in a manner that could be defined as 'an explosive device'...it was/wasnt in his house in 'x' quantity...
i read a SWAT clown unofficial statement that said it didnt appear to me a 'vbied'...or the nutjob didnt make an actual bomb out of the explosives found in his shitty suv. nothing specific about his house. -

2017-10-25 at 3:23 AM UTCThe guy seemed to have a very bizarre profile for being a mass shooter. Historically, shooters have accounts of personality disorders, extreme opinions, mental retardation, military service record, etc.
But this guy..was seemingly a mild-mannered senior citizen who seemed to be a high-profile guest of several resorts. I have to wonder if his gambling was a cover for something else. Perhaps he was surreptitiously involved in some sort of criminal trade. -

2017-10-25 at 3:28 AM UTCThe Vegas murderer was Jeff Hunter. The feds knew it all along. The FBI knew it, the CIA knew it, and most importantly Obama and Trump knew about it because they discussed it at length in their summit over the winter of '91. It was cold that night and Jeff was freezing in his room but the nirvana net servers were generating so much traffic that they kept him warm through the night. Thus totse was born. But alas, we all know what eventually became of totse. What many do not know is what became of Jeff Hunter afterwards...well I am here to tell you that he is a real person and he was extremely angry about what happened to the website with the kidiots coming in and fucking everything up...and well..you can see where the downward sprial starts

2017-10-25 at 3:54 AM UTCI'm gonna take the simplest explanation and say that it was probably just mental illness.
By all accounts he was successful, but he was also old and detached from his immediate family.
Guy gets depressed, tired with his life, wants to get famous so he opens fire and gets on the news. Doesn't really need to be more complicated than that tbh. -

Oops I didn't even post it.

it's an unusual occurrence with unusual circumstances... The autopsy results for victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting still haven't been (and likely will not be) released, for example - these things aren't always what they seem. It's a current affair that people have interest in.

Mentally ill people have motives too - sometimes their motives are completely sane and it's their illness that forces them to act. Leaving motives 'mental illness' as the sole reason for outbursts like this only serves to mask real causes.
Besides, I'd be interested to see what mental illness could explain why he thought it was a good idea to bring 20 guns to a mass shooting.
