Gas fumes are heavier than air, so when you fill your tank, the fumes are actually invisibly pouring down from both sides of the opening, like water pouring out on both sides of the nozzle. So as long as you keep your cigarette up high, a couple of feet above where the gas is coming out, you should be fine. -
