its can't be a planet it if doesn't have a surface, so its just a star.

I'm just play devils advocate, I know you have a scientificly inquiring mind like I do but I think you should be open before smacking your head.

Well Bill Krozby, i hate to break it to ya but...

    (1) A planet is
    (a) a celestial body that is in orbit around the Sun,
    (b) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and
(c.) has cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit.

The same definiton applies outside of our solar system. But we're supposed to call planets outside of our solar system exoplanets.

A star is a ball of gas that has enough internal pressure to initiate nuclear fusion.

well I guess thats good that you gave a "proper" definition but I believe that moons should be considered planets as well. Hell even some asteroids have "moons" and they aren't considered planets, I guess because their shape.

I know other people wont agree with this but I think that the idea of what a planet is, is very convoluted.

Why is pluto now considered a moon even though it matches the criteria, I still haven't found a solid answer to that.

But on that note some of the "moons" out their look pretty strange.

Moons revolve around a planet, not a star. Pluto is considered a dwarf planet, not a moon.

Pluto is not considered a moon. It is considered a dwarf planet. And were it not for our Moon being in orbit around the Earth it would be considered a dwarf planet as well. We call something a moon when it is in orbit around a planet, another name for those types of moons is natural satellite.

Our moon also revolves the sun also its more attracted to the sun than the earth, just study up newtons law of gravity.

the moon and the earth are technically coorbiatal bodies and (also technically) the moon qualifies as a planet. But can you imagine how problematic it would be to change everyone's minds on that matter? hhhmmmmm?!

Yes and the entire solar system is in orbit around the galactic center, and the galaxy has Andromeda and a couple of other galaxies orbiting it and it orbits them, and those orbit galaxies in our local group and the local group orbits all the galaxies in the local cluster and everything in our local cluster orbits everything else in what we call the Laniakea super cluster.

What is your point? Do you even know what an orbit is?
