There are plenty more like that. Normally I'd just think you're trolling, but you seem pretty stupid. (directed at Totse_2001)

Yeah, IIRC it was because of the Red Scare and the USSR’s policy on religion, their atheistic stance. They had the moronic just of being concerned about declining religious association and beliefs, possibly leading to or an increase in atheism, producing an increase in support for communism. -
2017-08-08 at 10:34 PM UTCYeah, it was part of the fight against "Godless Communism".

2017-08-09 at 12 AM UTCSo? It was put on some two-cent coins by the Treasury Secretary at the request of a Reverend, in the latter half of the 19th century before legislation kept that from happening. It still wasn't made the official national motto until the 1950s. What does that have to do with the national motto, or more relevantly, the founding fathers? This was nearly a century after they formed the Declaration of Independence so had nothing to do with them.

^Particularly the History section.
Not to mention the fact that "God" doesn't specify any religion, and virtually every religion has some concept that translates roughly to that. -

Fucking gaytheist fucks trying to stray America from god's path.
The guy who wrote The Star-Spangled Banner had no affiliation with the founding fathers nor the founding of this country. He was just some dude writing about a war. What does that have to do with whether or not the country was "founded on the Christian religion"? Most of the founders directly stated that it wasn't, and most of them were Deists or Unitarians. -
2017-08-09 at 12:03 AM UTCAlso, you don't have to be an atheist to know history or believe in religious freedom. Herp derp.

It's our national anthem. Official recognition had nothing to do with it. -

The national anthem has no bearing on any religious foundation of the country. If anything it speaks toward the religious affiliation of who wrote it and who chose it. Many early Americans were Christian. That's not the same thing as the country being founded on that religion. -

Ah, the violent thoughts. You're getting there. Don't fight it, just let it consume you. If faith stopped this shit, exorcisms wouldn't be a thing. Better find a priest quick. -
