Women choose to make less money when they choose to have a family or just have a more balanced life where you aren't working 70 hours a week. When polled, most women said that they would not want to have their bosses job.

I don't seriously believe that but maybe it plays a factor. If you factor in their tips they definitely make more on average. Of course this is just the hospitality industry.
