   in the middle-east in pre-christianity times, pissing and shitting in a well would depend on the locale. some places didnt know any better and it was common practice. other examples have people who did it, amongst other 'superstition' acts, resulting in entire families being tossed into a dry well for either punishment or as a sacrifice to the water deities to give them their water back. there arent many examples that ive read about.
   
   during the middle-ages juden were persecuted for alleged doing just that, along with allegedly causing the black plague, and given various punishments...some of which include being tossed into the well.
