The process of canonisation, deciding which books would be included in the Bible, didn’t occur all at once. The most significant steps took place during the Councils of Hippo (393 AD) and Carthage (397 AD), among others.
At these councils, church leaders debated and decided which texts were divinely inspired and should be included.
Books that didn’t fit their theological framework, such as the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, and the Gospel of the Nazarenes, were left out.
Some of these texts, known as the “Apocrypha” or “Gnostic Gospels,” were either destroyed or suppressed. -

perhaps the old testament books were removed because Christ rebuked some of the ancient laws? not sure why. who would dare remove books from the Bible and think they had the authority to do so without something that seemed logical at the time that those books contradicted Christ's teachings.
they left eye for an eye in for references to not resort to violence when possible and just walk away from a punch or smack. be the better person. -

The old testament laws were only valid during the Covenant. Once the wicked Jews broke the Covenant, all the laws contained in it were no longer the Law and were considered null and void. The 10 Commandments then became the new Law.
